Challenge

Previously, the company provided traditional training exclusively to a segment of its workforce. However, in 2018, Zurich Italia embarked on a new direction to fully commit to its employees. The ambitious goal was to shift from entirely in-person language training to a fully digital format, introducing for the first time a training project accessible to every employee. The challenge was significant, requiring a move to a digital training model without compromising engagement levels.

Zurich Italia made the Speexx Core solution available to its entire workforce, enhancing skills in five languages (English, Italian, French, Spanish, and German) through personalized microlearning activities focusing on grammar and business, while using resources from international newspapers. A designated registration portal enabled free, round-the-clock registration accessible to the entire workforce.

This benefit was also extended to family members and friends of Zurich Italia employees, allowing them to gift a course to a loved one. Moreover, Zurich employees can participate in online English workshops tailored to business needs or join unlimited group sessions with the Speexx global user community, led by expert coaches.

Outcome

Leveraging its partnership with Speexx, Zurich‘s entire Italian workforce now benefits from comprehensive digital language training programs. Speexx implementation has successfully reached over 1,000 employees. Additionally, Speexx Manager, an advanced integrated tool for training management and performance tracking, enables Zurich Italia‘s HR Team to independently monitor the project‘s progress and employee engagement levels at any moment.

The positive and widespread impact of the initiative is highlighted not only by the broad employee participation but also by the inclusion of 300 family members and friends, demonstrating its extensive appeal. The project‘s sustained success and increasing requests for more training are clear indicators of the fruitful collaboration between Zurich and Speexx.
