Which types of technologies do we use?

We use cookies, web beacons, plugins and other technologies to provide and operate our Websites; to allow you to access and use the Service without re-entering your username or password; to process a payment; to understand usage of our Service and the interests of our customers; and to determine whether an email has been opened and acted upon.

How do we use these technologies?

  • Where necessary for the Service. These technologies are essential to enable the Service to provide the feature you have requested, such as remembering you have logged in or processing a payment.

How can you clear cookies?

To opt-out of our use of cookies, you can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from websites you visit. Whether for a computer issue, privacy or another reason, clearing cookies is quite easy to do in any popular browser. You can usually delete cookies from the Privacy or History area, available from the Settings or Options menu in the browser. In most browsers, the same menu can be reached through the Ctrl+Shift+Del keyboard shortcut, or Command+Shift+Del if you’re on a Mac. Which third-party providers do we use for the Service?

In general, we do not use cookies or tracking technologies of any third-party providers in our products which are part of the Service to our Users provided via the Speexx Portal at portal.speexx.com.

Which third-party providers do we use on our Websites?

We use Monkey Business Images / Shutterstock for embedding images on our Websites. Monkey Business Images / Shutterstock is a picture agency which licenses images and other image material we use on our Websites. The operating company of the Monkey Business Images / Shutterstock Inc. is Shutterstock, Inc Empire State Building 350 Fifth Avenue, 21st Floor New York, NY 10118 USA

If you visit our Websites, Shutterstock Inc. collects the IP address of the Internet connection, through which you access our Websites, the browser type, browser language and time and length of access using embedded code. This data may be stored and analyzed by Shutterstock Inc.

Google Analytics
We use the web analysis tool Google Analytics, developed by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies“: text files that are saved on your computer and enable the analysis of your usage of a website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a server of Google in the USA and saved there. We use the so-called “_anonymizeIp()” script here, which ensures that your IP address (after identifying the geolocation) is immediately anonymised by Google. We have also closed a data processing agreement with Google. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity for website operators, and to provide other services relating to website and online usage. Google may also pass this information on to third parties if this is required by law or if these third parties process the data on behalf of Google. Google will not link your IP address to any other data about you it has stored.  
 
You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser software accordingly; please note though that you may not be able to use all the features of the Websites in full as a result. Google also offers so-called deactivation tools for some web browsers, where you can opt out of your user behavior being recorded and analysed. Google Ads
Google Ads is a service for Internet advertising that allows the advertiser to place ads in Google search engine results and the Google advertising network. Google Ads allows an advertiser to pre-define specific keywords with the help of which an ad on Google’s search results only then displayed, when the user utilizes the search engine to retrieve a keyword-relevant search result. In the Google Advertising Network, the ads are distributed on relevant web pages using an automatic algorithm, taking into account the previously defined keywords.

The purpose of Google Ads is the promotion of our Websites by the inclusion of relevant advertising on the Websites of third parties and in the search engine results of the search engine Google and an insertion of third-party advertising on our Websites.

If you reach our Websites via a Google ad, a conversion cookie is filed on web browser through Google. A conversion cookie loses its validity after 30 days and is not used to identify you. If the cookie has not expired, the conversion cookie is used to check whether certain sub-pages, e.g., the shopping cart from an online shop system, were called up on our Websites. Through the conversion cookie, both we and Google can understand whether a person who reached an Google Ads ad on our Websites generated sales, that is, executed or canceled a sale of goods.

The data and information collected through the use of the conversion cookie is used by Google to create visit statistics for our Websites. These visit statistics are used in order to determine the total number of users who have been served through Google Ads to ascertain the success or failure of each Google Ads ad and to optimize our ads in the future. Neither Speexx nor other Google Ads advertisers receive information from Google that could identify you.

The conversion cookie stores personal information, e.g. the Internet pages you visited. Each time you visit our Websites, personal data, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. These personal data are stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may pass these personal data collected through the technical procedure to third parties.

You may, at any time, prevent the setting of cookies by our website, by means of a corresponding setting of the Internet browser you use and thus permanently deny the setting of cookies. Such a setting of your Internet browser would also prevent Google from placing a conversion cookie. In addition, a cookie set by Google Google Ads may be deleted at any time via your Internet browser or other software programs.

You have the possibility of objecting to the interest-based advertisement of Google. Therefore, you must access from each of the browsers in use the link www.google.de/settings/ads and set the desired settings.

Google Remarketing
Google Remarketing is a feature of Google Ads, which allows an enterprise to display advertising to Internet users who have previously resided on the enterprise’s Internet site. The integration of Google Remarketing therefore allows an enterprise to create user-based advertising and thus shows relevant advertisements to interested Internet users. The purpose of Google Remarketing is the insertion of interest-relevant advertising. Google Remarketing allows us to display ads on the Google network or on other websites, which are based on individual needs and matched to the interests of Internet users.

Google Remarketing sets a cookie on your web browser. With the setting of the cookie, Google enables a recognition of the Visitor of our Websites if he calls up consecutive web pages, which are also a member of the Google advertising network. With each call-up to an Internet site on which the service has been integrated by Google Remarketing, your web browser identifies automatically with Google. During the course of this technical procedure, Google receives personal information, such as your IP address or the web browsing behavior, which Google uses, inter alia, for the insertion of interest relevant advertising.

The cookie is used to store personal information, e.g. the Websites you visited. Each time you visit our Websites, personal data, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses take place completely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place.

Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR / DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam.

Other platform providers that fall under “Social Plugins”
On our Websites we use so-called “Social Plugins” of various social networks: LinkedIn, Xing, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube. When you click on a page on one of the Websites that contains a plugin like this, your browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of the respective provider. The content of the plugin is sent from the provider directly to your browser and embedded in the page. This embedding means that the provider receives the information that your browser has accessed the respective page in question, even if you don’t have an account and are not currently logged in with this provider. This information (including your IP address) is sent from your browser directly to a server of the provider (usually located in the USA) and saved there. If you are logged in with the provider; they will be able to immediately align the visit to our website with your profile. If you interact with the plugins, e.g. if you press a button or post a comment, this information will also be transferred directly to the server of the provider and saved there. The provider in question can potentially publish this information on your profile or share it with your contacts.

If you do not wish the provider to match the data collected on our website with your profile in the respective social network, make sure you log out of that network before visiting our website.
