Mantenere un tono positivo in una discussione in inglese
Vi è mai capitato di trovarvi in una riunione tenuta in inglese e di non essere d’accordo con i vostri colleghi o clienti? Non sempre si è della stessa opinione degli altri e a volte è necessario anche dire di no. È importante però cercare di esprimere il proprio disaccordo in un tono positivo. Vi elenco, qui di seguito delle frasi in inglese che potrebbero essere utili nel vostro prossimo incontro con colleghi o anche clienti stranieri.

- YES: I’m not sure you have considered all the points…
- NO: I don’t have time…
- YES: I’m sorry but I disagree with you on this. I really believe there is not enough time to….
- NO: It’s not my problem
- YES: I have a completely different opinion on that and maybe we should think at alternatives suitable for everyone
- NO: You cannot take that decision, it’s out of order
- YES: I respect your point but from my perspective (or but in my opinion) I believe we could take a different decision
- NO: No, I will never agree with that. That’s rubbish!
- YES: I am sorry to interrupt you, I would like to share my opinions on your last point
- I find that very difficult to accept….
- That’s one way of looking at it, however….
- No, I’m not sure about that because….
- We don’t seem to be in complete agreement…
Quando non si è d’accordo su qualcosa, sarebbe importante offrire delle soluzioni alternative:
- Instead, I think we should/could…
- My suggestion would be to…
- An alternative solution might be…
- I would recommend that we…
- How about we…
- What do you think about _______ instead?
- If you ask me, I think we should…
Ricordatevi, a volte tradurre letteralmente le espressioni e i modi di dire dalla vostra lingua a quella inglese, non sempre funziona, anzi a volte rischiate di dare l’impressione di essere scortesi o troppo diretti. Be positive and carry on! 😊
